Understanding UAE Villa Electrical Service
Most UAE villas (especially 4+ bedroom) have three-phase 400V service (230V phase-to-neutral x 3 phases). This is standard for DEWA, SEWA and other UAE utilities. The three phases distribute the villa's loads:
- Phase 1: Lighting, general outlets, kitchen appliances
- Phase 2: Air conditioning, water heater
- Phase 3: Pool pump, majlis AC, outdoor lighting
Some older or smaller properties (2-3 bedroom townhouses) may have single-phase 230V service.
When You Need a Three-Phase Inverter
If the villa has three-phase service, you almost always need a three-phase inverter. This is not a recommendation — it is a requirement for proper load balancing and DEWA/SEWA compliance.
