For an inverter spare-parts enquiry, send the manufacturer, exact model, serial number, readable nameplate photo, fault message and a short operating history. Include an existing part number or technician's report if available. A fault code alone does not prove that a specific board, fan or connector needs replacing.
The first message: six useful pieces of information
An installation team may know the site is down but still lack enough information for a useful supplier enquiry. The aim of the first message is to establish which equipment is involved and what has been observed. It is not a remote repair diagnosis.
1. Exact equipment
Manufacturer, complete model designation and serial number. Include suffixes and the nameplate; a family name or power rating alone can refer to different versions.
2. Current symptom
Copy the fault or event message exactly. State whether the unit is stopped, intermittently stopping, or running with an alert. Separate observed facts from a suspected cause.
3. Safe existing evidence
Use readable nameplate photos, screen or monitoring screenshots, and documents already available. Do not open equipment or expose live terminals to collect a photo.
4. System context
Country, installation date if known, inverter role, battery model and firmware version where already accessible. Mention related equipment and when the symptom first appeared.
5. Part identity
If a qualified technician has identified a part, provide the supplier part number, hardware revision and their findings. A cropped image of an unidentified board is not an approved parts order.
6. Commercial request
Say whether you need a warranty enquiry, a paid spare, or a replacement-equipment assessment. Add quantity and delivery destination; ask the supplier to confirm availability and scope.
Why model and revision checks come before price
Two enquiries both described as “a board for a hybrid inverter” may concern different equipment. Before buying, ask for written confirmation that the offered part applies to your exact model and relevant revision. An attractive price does not resolve an unverified part identity.
The SMA Sunny Boy Storage contact checklist, for example, requests equipment type, serial number, firmware and event information for its service process. This is a model-specific manufacturer's example, not a universal parts list or an SH Energy authorization.
Copy this enquiry into an email
Keep the original labels visible in your attachments. Send screenshots without account passwords, customer credentials or unrelated personal details. If a field is unknown, mark it unknown rather than guessing.
If the part is unavailable, keep the replacement question separate
A missing spare can create a replacement opportunity, but a new inverter is not automatically a drop-in solution. A replacement enquiry needs the site's supply, connected loads, PV details, battery identity, communication requirements and applicable installation rules. Start with our storage RFQ checklist and the battery–inverter evidence checklist.
Record which parts or repair routes have actually been ruled out, who confirmed that position and which system functions must be preserved. This makes the replacement request specific rather than a generic request for a cheaper inverter.
Send a model-specific case
SH Energy can coordinate a China-side supplier enquiry and assess sourcing options based on the information provided. Parts availability, suitability, warranty acceptance and commercial terms require confirmation for the exact case. We do not perform on-site repairs or approve another manufacturer's warranty.

Or email the checklist to jimmy@sunhongenergy.com. If replacement is the relevant route, use the same company and case reference when requesting equipment.
Frequently asked questions
Is an inverter fault code enough to identify a spare part?
No. A fault code helps describe the case, but it does not establish which component has failed or which replacement part is suitable. Provide the exact equipment identity and obtain the manufacturer's or qualified technician's assessment.
Can a similar-looking board or connector be used as a replacement?
Appearance alone is not evidence of compatibility. The supplier must confirm the part number, hardware revision and applicable equipment model before a purchase.
What if the manufacturer cannot supply the part?
Record the supplier's response and assess an alternative sourcing or replacement-equipment enquiry. Do not assume another part or inverter will work with the existing system.
Does SH Energy provide official warranty approval or repair execution?
No. SH Energy coordinates documentation, sourcing and supplier enquiries. Warranty approval belongs to the responsible manufacturer or supplier; diagnosis and repair belong to qualified service personnel.
